Delighted to be an ambassador for Danone first 1000 days initiative

I had a great day meeting the people behind the ‘Danone Baby Nutrition First 1000 Days’ initiative. When myself and my wife Amelda were asked to become ambassadors for the project last year we jumped at the chance, and it is something that we are both very passionate about. As parents to fantastic twins, Connor and Lucia, it is something which is close to our hearts.

The ‘First 1000 Days’ is all about promoting healthy eating for mums to be, babies, and young toddlers. It begins from the moment of conception and lasts until the baby, or as it was in our case, babies, are two years old. The nutrition that a baby receives in the first 1000 days can be so important for their development and general well being.

Today we were relaunching the initiative and it was great to be involved. Their website is fantastic and is just a wealth of knowledge for expectant mums and dads or parents of babies and small toddlers. The people behind the campaign are great, and we are so excited to be working with them again. You can also find them on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ as well.

There is some tremendous information on the website including a fantastic cookbook that I was delighted to contribute to, and that is free to download. I know how difficult things can be for parents of young kids so we have tried to provide easy nutritious and delicious recipes that also won’t cost an arm and a leg.

If you want to launch straight into some visual recipes there are seven brand new recipes available to be seen here  but I really recommend that you download the cookbook as well.

Over the coming weeks and months I will be cooking at some roadshows so keep checking back to find out more details.
